Keymark Corporation of Florida, an aluminum extrusion manufacturing plant, is actively interviewing applicants for the Senior Accountant at the Lakeland manufacturing plant. Starting salary range depending on your experience and knowledge is $58,000–$63,000/annually.

Scope of the role:

You will be responsible for a variety of duties ranging from preparing, analyzing, and reporting weekly, monthly and quarterly financial & operational metrics, assisting in month-end closing and inventory, working with IT on system upgrades, and using approved software and spreadsheets to help with cost decisions on production.

In this position, your responsibilities will include maintenance, development, and oversight of purchases, submission of inventory entries, and the accuracy and validity of inventory.

To be successful in this role you must have a good understanding of general business processes, and the manufacturing industry, be able to multi-task, as well as be a team player. The Sr. Accountant in Florida will report directly to the Chief Accounting Officer in NY and assist with any ad hoc reporting or other projects as assigned.


Primary duties:

• Perform general cost accounting and other related duties.

• Prepare monthly closing journal entries.

• Maintain general ledger and various schedules supporting GL balances.

• Navigate the various internal software applications to investigate issues, perform research, and report on data.

• Work with the various departments to improve reporting & processes.

• Provide support to plant manager.

• Assist outside auditors and help with gathering necessary documents. Participate in year-end inventory.

• Manage billet inventory and monthly metal process.

• Lead and direct the streamlining of the purchasing and receiving functions.

• Ensure financial reporting records are in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

• Review the consistency and accuracy of use of general ledger accounts.

• Assist in updating and/or developing Standard Operating Procedures & Policies for accounting and finance departments.

• Other duties and projects, as assigned


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for this position include:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Prior experience in accounting or finance roles required (2-3+years)

• Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience preferred

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to compile and analyze data

• Ability to quickly learn how to navigate a variety of internal systems (Dynamics GP, EPICS, Winsys, ADP, Fixed Asset Manager)

• Proficiency and knowledge Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint

• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

• Work requires professional written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills

• Requires flexibility and ability to multi-task

• Determine appropriate general ledger accounts to be used when unusual invoicing issues arise

• Determine appropriate levels of billet inventory to maintain based on production/sales needs.

• Mediate issues between accounting and other departments (IT, Purchasing, HR.)

• Determine plan of action when accounting errors are identified
