Job description

Keymark is a large domestic metals manufacturer that supports the residential and commercial building industry with facilities across the Eastern United States. Our multi-shift 24/7 manufacturing plant in the Central Florida area is recruiting for Quality Control Inspector - Day Shift, Monday - Friday, 6am-2pm. Hourly compensation will be dependent on experience, ranging between $15 - $26/hr, along with an attractive benefits package.


The Quality Control Inspector is a critical-to-quality position. In this role, you will report the sample quality issues to Managers and Supervisors via a standardized email format. The Inspector will primarily work at an inspection table with measuring instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and taper gauges. Use basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and a safe manner.
  • Verification of proper measuring instruments/devices before commencing job functions.
  • Retrieve reports/information from EPICS and the database, crucial to the job function
  • Inspect each extruded shape compared to its drawing in order to verify compliance to standard tolerance in the absence of specified tolerance.
  • Record actual measurements of all dimensions measurable with micrometers or calipers (standard or offset) for each die cavity of each shape when 20 or less measurable dimensions are specified.
  • Record actual measurements of at least 50% of key characteristic dimensions measurable with micrometers or calipers (standard or offset) for each die cavity of each shape when 20 or less measurable dimensions are specified.
  • Complete the reports as assigned, such as samples, daily logs, die dimensions, etc..
  • First Article Inspection.
  • Appropriately file and organize drawings and reports
  • Communicate with QC Supervisor/manager to effectively describe dimensional/visual nonconformances.
  • Report die sample quality issues to Managers and Supervisors via a standardized email format.
  • Perform Tensile Tests of precut, ready-to-test, samples.
  • And other responsibilities as assigned or as modified to support business needs.

Working Conditions:

As is customary in an extrusion and manufacturing facility, the temperature can be hot and extremely hot during the spring, summer, and fall months. Protective garment requirements can further add to working temperatures. Hydration beverages are available throughout the shift, and employees are encouraged to maintain hydration levels. The ambient noise is loud due to the loud machinery. Hearing protection is provided and required at all times during operations. The employee must be aware of moving equipment such as moving machinery, hoists, conveyors, and forklifts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel and reach with hands and arms.
